Semester courses

French via foreign language courses (FLE, Français Langue Etrangère) are available for international students throughout the academic year. The CIREFE on the Villejean Campus provides language support for international students at Université de Rennes 1.

For foreign students following a curriculum in French, evening classes of a maximum of 4 hours per week are available to complete their French language training. Courses are free for students on an exchange programme.
Students are tested prior to the beginning of classes and assigned to groups corresponding to their language level. On successful completion of the course, lasting one semester, they are awarded 5 ECTS credits.
