Université de Rennes 1 offers degrees taught exclusively in English and every student at the university is given the opportunity to complete part of their studies abroad.

Université de Rennes 1 currently welcomes over 3,191 international students which represents 13% of the university’s student population. Every year nearly 1,000 students undertake an outgoing study programme or work placement.

The university provides a wide range of international courses and curriculum in English. These courses are an integral part of the university's international policy. A course portfolio in English will be available soon.

10 master's degrees are taught exclusively in English. The university also offers 30 double degrees with international partners and off-campus training sessions.

The university offers 3 additional programmes taught exclusively in English: the Postgraduate Certificate in International Affairs - Specialisation in European Affairs; the Rennes exchange programme in economics - a semester or a full academic year taught in English (3rd year of the bachelor's degree in economics;  CGM Biology (from September 2017) - a semester taught in English (3rd year of the bachelor's degree in cellular and molecular biology).

Japanese language and culture courses - The French-Japanese Management Centre offers a Masters in Business Administration (MAE), Management of Japanese Companies track (available in the module “International and Bicultural Management”).

Preparatory programme with French as a Foreign Language (FLE) - Economics and Management programme – two years: courses in economics and French (as a foreign language) in preparation for Master-level economics studies.

Every student at Université de Rennes 1 can do part of their studies abroad through a 6 month to 1 year exchange programme in a partner university or on an approved overseas training course.
