Over 20,000 masks have been donated to Université de Rennes 1 by institutional partners and alumni in China :
10,000 surgical masks were sent by Shenzhen Technology University (picture on the left), while a community of alumni of Université de Rennes 1 in China took the initiative to ship 13,000 masks our way (picture on the right), to help in the fight against the pandemic in Rennes.
These donations are a very welcome contribution to the university’s endeavour to collect protective medical equipment to healthcare workers in and around Rennes and elsewhere in Brittany.
Over 215,000 protective equipment collected within a few days
Thanks to the mobilisation of our research labs (Biosit, CReAAH, Ecobio, Foton, Géosciences, IETR, IGDR, IPR, Irset, ISCR, LTSI, MICMAC, NuMeCan, LGCGM, ScanMat), departments (ENSSAT engineering school, OSUR observatory, Life Sciences and Material Science), services, and partner institutions (Agrocampus Ouest, INSA Rennes, ENSCR, Sciences-Po Rennes), over 215,000 protective equipment (FFP2 and FFP3 masks, surgical masks, gloves, gown, glasses, …) were collected over a very short period of time.
