Under the umbrella of the French Embassy in Tokyo, and with the support of NIMS, CNRS, Université de Rennes 1, Université Caen-Normandie, and the French ministry of foreign affairs and international development , this 8th workshop will be held at NIMS (National Institute for Materials Science) in Tsukuba, Japan.
This 8th workshop aims to focus on the outstanding research developed in material science by leading academic scientists, researchers and scholars in both France and Japan, and to introduce their views and summary of recent innovative material research.
The topics will be:
- Glasses and ceramics: synthesis, optical and electronic properties, applications
- Theoretical and machine learning: prediction and design
- Nano materials : control, design, toxicity and applications
- Soft-matters: synthesis, properties and applications
These workshops, taking place alternatively in Japan or in France, are the result of a long-lasting collaboration between Université de Rennes 1, NIMS, Saint-Gobain and CNRS, that lead to the creation of a Joint International Research Unit (Unité Mixte Internationale, UMI) LINK (Laboratory for Innovative key Materials and Structures).
